PHILIPSBURG – Nagico Insurances officially released their 2017 corporate calendar yesterday, which is themed: “Strong Community Mindedness.”

The calendar, which is distributed in all 20 territories, features various volunteer community service projects, done by the staff of the Nagico Group in the territories in which they operate.

These projects range from renovating schools, partnering with non-profit organizations, which cater to the vulnerable groups in society like the Down Syndrome St. Maarten and Caribbean Foundation, helping out at animal shelters and even to rebuilding a home for a family of six who were in dire need.

Nagico marked the official launch with a symbolic handing over of the first calendar to Mireya Torrenga, President of the Down Syndrome St. Maarten and Caribbean Foundation, which was featured in the calendar as the project for St. Maarten.

“We are aware that our annual calendar is a powerful tool, one which we can use to do good in our communities, especially since we have a far reach given the fact that we are located all around the Caribbean,” Marketing Manager Lisa Brown said. “We have chosen to use this means to do positive work, like showcasing local talent, highlighting the culture and heritage in these territories, basically any activity that gives good exposure to the various islands.”

This year, the Nagico 2016 calendar was themed: “My Heritage, My Culture,” which sought to highlight the culture of each territory, shown through the eyes of children, in the form of an art competition within local primary and high schools.

The winning students were rewarded with small tokens and their winning piece was featured prominently in the calendar, along with their name, photo, name of their school and their country. Over 20,000 copies of these calendars were printed and circulated free of cost throughout all 20 Nagico territories.

Nagico calendars are available free of charge at the Nagico head office in Philipsburg, or at any Nagico agent or broker island wide.
