UPDATE: “Cuchi’s” brother Tito set free by Judge of Instruction

UPDATE: ~Arrest procedure deemed unlawful~

BELVEDERE, Sint Maarten (Update 13:45 pm) Tito Fortune regained his freedom after the Judge of Instruction found there were irregularities in his arrest procedure.

Fugitive Kathron “Cuchi” Fortune’s brother Tito was arrested on Wednesday, December 14, in Belvedere. A search of his home followed, but nothing was found at in the home that could directly incriminate him in the disappearance of the two missing men.

Spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office Gino Bernadina and his lawyer Remco Stomp confirmed to 721news that Tito was set free on Friday, December 16.

721news clarifies the story of his arrest:
On the same day Tito regained his freedom, Police issued a press release stating that they had arrested T.J.F. (Tito) in connection with the missing men. This may have caused some confusion, but Police issued their press release late.

721news published the news that CCTV images showed Tito in company of the two missing men, which led investigators to question him, as Tito became the last person who saw the two missing men.

Our newsroom could not be confirm if the Public Prosecutor would keep him as a suspect even if he was set free.

Luis Diaz-Sarante and Edwin Rosario may not be alive anymore ~ 

Information reaching 721news say that police had gathered some strong evidence, which clearly indicated that the two men may not be alive anymore.

Suspect arrested in disappearance of missing men

Philipsburg: A male suspect with initials T.J.F. from Belvedere was arrested on December 14 2016, at approximately 16.20 pm in connection with the disappearance of E. ROSARIO and L. DIAZ SARANTE.  Following the arrest of T.J.F. a searched was carried out at his home also situated in the area.

Additionally a further investigation was also conducted in a hotel in the Pelican area, where the young men were last seen on December 5 2016, by detectives and members of the Forensic Team.
