KRALENDIJK, Bonaire – Joanne Balentien-Nicastia has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as per January 1, 2017. Together with Alfredo Koolman (CEO), she constitutes the Board of Directors of WEB. The appointment is the result of a recruitment and selection trajectory that started in June 2016.
Balentien-Nicastia has over 15 years’ experience in strategic analysis and implementation, and in risk analysis and project financing. Before her appointment as CFO, she was director and owner of DCConsultancy that provides corporate financial services.
Until June 1, 2015 she was Senior Director Transactions at the National Investment Bank (NIBanc) in Curaçao. In the seven years she held this position she has been involved in several large (project) financings, including for utility companies on Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire and St. Maarten.
Balentien-Nicastia obtained her Master of Science degree in Engineering at the University of Twente and achieved Level 1 of the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Before moving to the Caribbean she worked at KPN in The Netherlands. There she guided strategic processes, wrote business plans for a business unit, was in charge of the revenue controlling of the business unit and was involved in the evaluation of business cases. Balentien-Nicastia also gained experience in marketing and sales throughout several positions in her career.
Given the experience and schooling of the new CFO, WEB is confident that she can contribute positively to further development in the WEB-organization and in the community.
