PHILIPSBURG – The Progress Committee paid a working visit to Chairperson of Parliament Sarah Wescot-Williams and briefed the chairlady on their work and findings.

Two areas of responsibilities still under examination by the Progress Committee are: the prison system and the police organization on St. Maarten, both which are critical to the justice system.

Given the concerns addressed to the Committee, it was agreed that they would be invited to brief Parliament on their work in the two aforementioned areas. This meeting with Parliament will most likely take place in March.
