Road clean up

SUCKERGARDEN, Sint Maarten — The Police Department in collaboration with the department of VROMI, Windward roads, Concrete Mix and Bobbsy Construction Company, took the initiative to have the concrete spill on the slope of the area known as “Becky Hill” at Upper Princess Quarter and which has been there for a number of years and  which causes quite some hindrance for traffic cleaned up.

The clean up started at approximately 07.00 a.m. and ended at approximately 12.30 p.m. The equipment and manpower to have this clean up carried out were donated by the companies mentioned.

The police will continue to monitor the issue of the transportation of any type of aggregate on the public roads and also the hours during which this type of heavy transport equipment is not allowed to be in traffic. Drivers of any heavy transport equipment should at all times make sure that there are no spills while transporting any type of aggregate.

If there are any spills they should make sure that it is immediately cleaned up. Not pushed on the side of the street, but totally removed from the street.
