PHILIPSBURG – As a parent, there are various ways in offering support to your child’s future career success. Understanding the importance of your influence is the key to their success.

The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports will be hosting an interactive workshop entitled: “Looking Beyond: Helping Your Child With Career Choices.”

This free workshop aspires to provide parents of secondary school students with tips, strategies, and resources to aid their children in researching careers, exploring career options, and helping them decide on a career choice.

This workshop will be held on Thursday, March 30, at the SSSD’s office from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Persons interested in attending are urged to contact the SSSD’s office at 543-1235 and reserve their spot as space is limited.

The Student Support Services Division(SSSD) provides support services to students referred by the care team of their schools. These services consist of psychological, counseling, social work, educational diagnostic, career, speech language pathology services, and parent education sessions. SSSD also provides workshops for parents, teachers and school personnel.
