Air France plane discovered with cocaine in cargo section from 721news on Vimeo.
SIMPSON BAY, Sint Maarten — On Thursday, March 30, Customs at the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) was notified of a large amount of drugs that was found stored in the side panels of the airplaneās cargo compartment.
According to reliable information reaching 721news, the Air France Technical crew was busy with a routine check of the cargo section, as a previous warning of a malfunction had been reported.
During the control, the bags were discovered and Customs was notified immediately for further investigation. When law enforcement officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an unknown amount of kilos of what is presumed to be cocaine, packed in black handbags.
It is not clear if the plane had landed with the drugs already on board, or if the drugs were loaded in St. Maarten.
It is a fact that the PJIA airport security has some breaches that none tagged suitcases gets thru on the rap area.
Authorities are busy with the investigation, and hopefully by today Friday March 31, we will get an official statement from the Customs Department.
