MULLET BAY – Last Friday, April 7, the St Maarten Nature Foundation organized a beach clean-up with students of the Milton Peters College (MPC).

Some 22 first form students removed 30 bags of garbage from the beach and learned about the harmful impacts of trash on marine life. “All students worked really intensively to collect trash and even enjoyed doing so,” said Nature Foundation Projects Officer Melanie Meijer zu Schlochtern.

The Foundation and teachers were impressed by the motivation of the young students and hopes that they continue to protect St. Maarten’s environment. “Nature is our Future. Let’s keep our island clean together.”
