ARIZONA — St. Maarten professional baseball player Denzel Richardson hit his first home run in this year’s Spring Training, in this screen capture. Richardson hit the second pitch offered over the left field fence driving in three runs. Richardson signed with the Rockies in 2012.

He has played in 114 games, had 374 at bats and a career batting average of .225. Richardson expects to get his assignment for the 2015 season in the next two weeks. Last year he started with Grand Junction and was moved up Tri-City Dust Devils in the Northwest Class A League.

At the end of last year’s spring training Richardson was called up to the Major League team to play in their last training game before opening day.
