Philipsburg – Sharon Dijksma, Mayor of Utrecht and Chairman of the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG), recently visited the office of the Temporary Work Organization (TWO) on Sint Maarten. She was accompanied by Pieter Jeroense (director of VNG International), Mathijs Kuppen (Project Manager) and Mathijs Peter (International Relations).
Representatives of the TWO, Leona Romeo and Tjandra Lake, presented an overview of the eight themes from the Country Package and the various projects that are currently being implemented or are being started. VNG is involved in several areas within the Country Packages.
Apart from the Country Packages, VNG also has a partnership with the government of Sint Maarten. The visit to the Country was to investigate how to further expand the partnership.
